The Italian Shipping Academy offers training programs within the ITS (Higher Technical Education) system, through which students are trained in the strategic fields of maritime affairs and logistics.
The Academy is a technical college that operates in the field of sustainable mobility, training professionals in the maritime and port sector and onboard services, in close collaboration with shipping companies and other actors of the maritime field. The companies' envolvement starts as early as the program design phase, with the aim of providing training that is closely aligned with companies’ needs and thus ensuring high employment rates.
ITS programs are free of charge, as they are funded through resources provided by the Ministry of Education, the Liguria Region (European Social Fund), and the National Maritime Fund.
The Academy also offers courses for the “management level” as required by international regulations (STCW), in accordance with the provisions of the decrees issued by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, as well as training programs enabling to the roles of Deck and Engine Cadet (AKA "Allineamento").
The Academy also offers courses for theretraining and life-long education of professionals and for the professional development of unemployed people.
