WORLD MARITIME UNIVERSITY

The World Maritime University (WMU) was founded in 1983 by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), a specialized agency of the United Nations, as the leading center of excellence for maritime graduate education, research, and capacity building.

The University offers one-of-a-kind graduate programs, conducts extensive research in the field of maritime and ocean studies, and continues to develop maritime capabilities in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

It is headquartered in Malmö, Sweden, but also offers courses in other cities around the world.

The existing agreement allows former students of the Academy who have earned an EQF6 diploma (Deck and Engine) and have at least five years of significant work experience to enroll in master’s degree programs.
